I've always had an opinion or two. Actually, probably more than two. Over the years, there were plenty of times when I had a thought that made me laugh, a comment that was just a little too honest, or something I thought but wisely decided not to say. At 90 years, you learn a thing or two about discretion.
Then Toad came along. He was a foster corgi, and the arrangement was supposed to be temporary. That didn't quite work out. Toad found a home, and with him came an incredible amount of energy, spirit and fun. He energized the house — and somehow, he energized me, too.
I had been self-employed for years, but I wanted to do something different: something creative, fun and stimulating. Somehow, Toad brought that out in me. He also managed to release a whole collection of thoughts I had apparently been saving for later. He didn't put the attitude there. He simply seemed to know exactly where it was hiding — and decided it was time to let it out.
That's how CenterStage Pets began: with a corgi, a few opinions, a lot of energy, and an attitude that apparently had been waiting for its moment.
